Five Year Anniversary
Today I received my award for being at EA for five years.
It's a nice watch with "EA" and "N.F." inscribed on the back.

There was a little mix-up and the gift was mailed to the home of my former manager ( who no longer works at EA ) and she had to come down to EA and drop it off...which was very nice of her.

The cool part of the mix-up was that when I got the box, there was still a little envelope with a card inside that gave tips on how to present the award.

"It's time to CHEER!" ( the card says...)

"Are you ready to make a meaningful award presentation?
A few minutes of preparation now can make all the difference."

"Now is your chance to MAKE AN IMPACT in your organization. Award presentations are POWERFUL MOMENTS for employees.
Through the internet or interactive telephone training system you'll get:

-SIMPLE keys for giving effective praise.
-Pointers for difficult situations
-Ideas to SPICE UP your presentation.
-Presentation DOs and DONT's
-Fun historical trivia about the year the recipient was hired.

"A great award presentation is a WIN-WIN SITUATION FOR EVERYBODY.
It makes the employee and those witnessing the recognition FEEL GOOD"

The card then goes on to offer other tips such as making sure you know how to pronounce the recipient's name and knowing why the recipient is being honored.

Since I'm a sick and twisted individual who watches infomercials for fun, I actually got a little kick out of this.

Is the EA in logo form or on the face of the clock? That would make it extra awesome...

BTW, since I'm new to your lj... after a game has shipped are you allowed to post some of your artwork for it? I'd love to see what the Godfather design stuff looks like!

Nah,
The "EA" is on the back.
I did get a watch as a DC Christmas present one year and the DC bullet was on the face .
Unfortunately, I don't know where that watch is now...I'll have to look around.

And, yeah, we can show work once a game has shipped, but I mostly did storyboards for Godfather.
( millions and millions of storyboards...)
I might put up some random stuff though. More for the fun of it than for portfolio purposes.

My new icon is my son's newborn photo with the color inverted.
He came right out of the womb looking like he already had plans for world domination.

I was reading about Alice and saw some of the concept art that you did. I don't know if you were a character designed or an artist or what, and I never played the game, but I must say that the art made me shiver. It's some powerfully dark stuff you've got there, and I admire it. Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks for the comments.
Some times people might think that sending an email ( or a reply to a journal entry ) doesn't make that much of a difference... but it does.
Especially on a website like this, feedback is always a good thing.

And as for what I did on Alice, I worked on initiall character designs.
Primarily Alice, the Hatter, the Tweedles along with various other things.
