Five Year Anniversary
Today I received my award for being at EA for five years.
It's a nice watch with "EA" and "N.F." inscribed on the back.
There was a little mix-up and the gift was mailed to the home of my former manager ( who no longer works at EA ) and she had to come down to EA and drop it off...which was very nice of her.
The cool part of the mix-up was that when I got the box, there was still a little envelope with a card inside that gave tips on how to present the award.
"It's time to CHEER!" ( the card says...)
"Are you ready to make a meaningful award presentation?
A few minutes of preparation now can make all the difference."
"Now is your chance to MAKE AN IMPACT in your organization. Award presentations are POWERFUL MOMENTS for employees.
Through the internet or interactive telephone training system you'll get:
-SIMPLE keys for giving effective praise.
-Pointers for difficult situations
-Ideas to SPICE UP your presentation.
-Presentation DOs and DONT's
-Fun historical trivia about the year the recipient was hired.
"A great award presentation is a WIN-WIN SITUATION FOR EVERYBODY.
It makes the employee and those witnessing the recognition FEEL GOOD"
The card then goes on to offer other tips such as making sure you know how to pronounce the recipient's name and knowing why the recipient is being honored.
Since I'm a sick and twisted individual who watches infomercials for fun, I actually got a little kick out of this.
